Guys, do you think scrubbing is just a woman’s thing? Make no mistake, all skin, male or female, needs a facial scrub, trust me !
Even more the face, which is the unavoidable part to maintain. Exfoliation goes beyond cleaning, a man needs to cleanse, moisturize and exfoliate his face as well. So stay with me to find out all about exfoliation and why it’s useful to get and keep a beautiful skin.
What is a facial scrub?
It is a skin care, which consists of deep cleansing, getting rid of dead skin by using cosmetic or homemade products.
Indeed, our face is the first to be exposed to wind, dust and sun. Scrubbing reduces the risk of infection which is often the cause of blackheads and pimples. In addition, some people have faces that secrete an abundance of sebum, which alone already prevents a clear complexion, not to mention perspiration.
It is therefore the part of the body that stores the most dirt and therefore needs deep facial cleansing. I know, you’re wondering if soap and water aren’t enough to get rid of this pollution? Well actually no, washing your face with soap and water is not enough to make it absolutely clean.
Why not? Let me explain: soap allows you to remove the layer of dirt from the surface of your face, but it does not have the power to unclog the pores of your face, but there are corrective creams. It is this pore-clogging action that represents exfoliation or scrubbing.
When the pores of the face are unclogged, your complexion is brighter, clearer, the excess of sebum is faded, in short you will obtain a fresh and airy face, you are even more beautiful!
The added advantage for us men is that it removes ingrown hairs, making shaving easier for you. It should be done before shaving for a flawless result.
Is it necessary for a guy to exfoliate daily?
Scrubbing is an action that makes your skin as clean as it becomes fragile like a baby’s, so no, you don’t have to do it every day, far from it. For example, I recommend applying your mask once every 3 days or once a week depending on your skin type.
Once your exfoliation is done, any impurity is eradicated and your face becomes both pure and more sensitive. This is why I advise you after a scrub to moisturize yourself with a lotion or a cream enriched with protective vitamins.
This hydration will protect your skin against all impurities and external aggressions, it will make it softer, and believe me, it is the most beautiful sensation you can feel.
Perhaps you wonder about the seasons? Well I inform you that the period when it is cool is the most suitable for an exfoliation. Why is that? The cold has a vacuum effect on your face, it dries out your skin and makes it dry.
It absorbs the lipids contained in the skin and dehydrates it. When you have a dry skin, it goes as far as to irritate you and favours much more the creation of dead skin. I would also like to remind you that exfoliation has a softening effect on your beard.
Is the scrub suitable for all types of faces?
All types of faces need to get a new look, so whether you have oily, dry, sensitive or normal skin, you need to exfoliate it. But I must tell you that not all types of faces need the same type of exfoliation, because there are exfoliants that are more active than others. So if you have an oily face I recommend very active exfoliants to fight against excess sebum.
In the case of sensitive skin, your mask should be soft and less strong, because it could irritate you. With this type of skin, I advise you to opt for a homemade scrub with fruits for example, because these are very vulnerable skins that quickly become infected.
Also, there are sponges to accompany you in your beauty routine in order to avoid acne and black spots. These sponges are made with the right material to gently cleanse your face.
How to apply an exfoliation cream?
You must have a wet face, before putting on your mask. As a prelude you must take care to wash your face to get rid of the superfluous.
I suggest that you do not exfoliate too hard, because your skin could become irritated by rubbing your face with a lot of energy, which could also create redness.
Emphasize your forehead, nose and chin because they are areas that absorb more impurities and are less fragile compared to the eye area which is very fragile.
Let the mask rest for a few minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. Others do it with cold water, but I advise you to use warm water because it allows you to effectively remove the scrub, especially if it is an exfoliation on oily skin.
Face Scrub: How many types of scrubs are there?
I will tell you that we have 2 types of exfoliants: mechanical and chemical. Made with ingredients such as avocado stone or fruit paste, mechanical exfoliants are those recommended for normal or oily skin.
Chemical exfoliants are designed with active ingredients such as glycolic acid, AHAs, which aim to quickly remove dead skin. If you use this type of exfoliator, I warn you of the rapidity of its action and therefore do not make the mistake of trying to penetrate it by a massage or rubbing. Warning especially for sensitive skin.
No more excuses, gentlemen, you have every reason to adopt an exfoliation according to your skin type.
